• New clients book a free Meet & Greet and must schedule a minimum one day visit and then one overnight to make initial acquaintances and ensure our compatibility prior to acceptance for any longer terms
• This policy reduces potential separation anxiety that you or your pet may encounter by reassuring everyone is comfortable and content to stay with new friends at the Farm before booking longer visits
• The Loft is now available for your friendly CAT or other small animals (fish, birds, reptiles, rabbits, etc)

IMPORTANT: Do not administer Bordetella vaccines during the three weeks prior to any planned socialization or farm visits to avoid any possibility of spreading potentially contagious symptoms that some dogs may develop after vaccination (for example: runny nose, goober eye). Please always remember to wait at least three weeks before visiting the farm following this vaccine administration. Thank you!

REASONABLE RATES

DAYCARE (anytime between 8 AM to 6 PM) – $30

OVERNIGHT BOARD (24 hrs from drop off time) – $45

• $5.00 / hr outside regularly scheduled hours
• Ask about discounts for multiple pet households and on stays longer than three weeks
• Individual spaces are available on request

NEW IN 2024! The Loft is a private room upstairs in the farm house… always away from the dogs… except your own!

Ask about our ‘check in at home’ service available only within our 15km local area – We can drop by to feed your fish, cats, or horses, let puppy out for a pee, make sure your lizard’s heater is on, water the goats, close your flock or herd in for the night…etc.

We can also arrange for your farm animals to stay here at our farm… ask…we may be able to accommodate all of your short or long term animal care needs.

Piedmont Valley Farms is conveniently located less than 10 km from the Trans Canada Hwy – halfway between the towns of Antigonish and New Glasgow in north eastern Piictou County, NS.

We are only a little bit off the main path and your pal will appreciate the extra mile! Many of our customers have stated their dog start to “sing” and gets excitedly happy when they cross the bridge over the Barneys River and recognize they are on their way to visit the Farm!

From Hwy #4 West or the TCH Exit 29 #4 E go north on the Barney’s River Road about 5.5 km to Piedmont Valley Rd, LEFT after the single lane green bridge, and then straight on for about 3 km on the dirt road to #2063, on the right. Google often suggests other routes, but this is the best option in our estimation. Unless, of course, you are located on the shore, in which case you’d travel south on the Barney’s River Rd and go right onto the Piedmont Road instead. Cell phones do not work in this area, so write this down on paper before heading this way the first time. 🙂

We will be happy to greet you at the main gate with arrivals and departures scheduled for mutual convenience.

Pets must arrive / exit leashed or crated to ensure proper introductions, safety, and etiquette with others arriving or exiting the yard at the same time.

For your own and other guest’s safety DO NOT EVER OPEN ANY FARM DOOR OR GATE or enter any fenced areas unattended by Farm staff!

Grooming or obedience training is not offered on-site but may be arranged with great local providers on special request while your dog is with us.

All our doggie guests love our “Beggin’ Hearts & Bones” farm-baked all natural treats – available at our Farm market tables and when you visit!
